DESCRIPTION:On June 19\, 1865\, more than two years after the Emancipation 
 Proclamation\, enslaved people in Galveston\, Texas\, finally received the 
 long-awaited news that they were free.\nJuneteenth\, short for June Ninetee
 nth\, honors that historic moment and calls us to remember that the journey
  toward justice\, dignity\, and equality continues.\nNow recognized as a fe
 deral holiday\, Juneteenth is both a joyful celebration of freedom and a po
 werful moment of reflection. It invites us to honor Black history\, culture
 \, and resilience while recommitting ourselves to the work of building a mo
 re just\, compassionate\, and inclusive society.\nIn honoring this moment i
 n history\, The Diocese of West Missouri invites you to a Juneteenth celebr
 ation: Remembering the Past\, Shaping the Future\, on Saturday\, June 20 fr
 om 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral. Come and learn abo
