On Tuesday, April 1, Lenette Johnson, Tara Bennett, and more and attended the Moms Demand Action Gun Violence Advocacy Day in Jefferson City.
The group was joined by the Missioner for Gun Violence for The Diocese of Missouri, Rev. Meghan Ryan, on the steps of the Capitol for a prayer service in which participants from both dioceses read prayers. Afterwards, the group met with leaders, representatives, and lawmakers from across the political spectrum to advocate for common sense gun laws, and to ask them to oppose several dangerous laws that are currently under consideration in the legislature. There were over 200 in total who attended and advocated on the capitol steps.
