Ozark Pridefest Parade

This June, The Diocese of West Missouri joyfully participated in two major Pride events across the state; the Kansas City PrideFest on June 7 and Ozark PrideFest in Springfield on June 14. These gatherings offered our diocesan community the opportunity to stand in solidarity with our LGBTQ+ siblings, celebrate diversity, and share Christ’s message of unconditional love.

At both events, the Diocese hosted a Pride Eucharist prior to the start of each parade. These services, grounded in our shared faith and commitment to affirming the dignity of every person, offered a powerful reminder that God’s table is open to all.

Following the services, clergy, lay leaders, and members from across the diocese joined the Pride parades, walking together in support of inclusion and equality. For many who attended, these events were more than just celebrations—they were sacred moments of healing, affirmation, and visibility. We are grateful for the opportunity to walk with our LGBTQ+ community and proclaim the good news that all are beloved by God. As a diocese, we remain committed to fostering spaces where everyone is welcomed, affirmed, and celebrated.

Thank you to the Pride Committee and all the volunteers who planned, prepared, and participated at this year’s events. We look forward to continuing this journey of love and justice—together.
