The Living Church is hosting a three-day conference on learning to read and love the whole of scripture with the church across time.
Sept. 24-26, 2026
Oklahoma City
What does it mean to love Scripture? How does Jesus encounter us through every part of the Bible, even the most difficult parts, revealing God’s Wisdom? How can Christians better “read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest” God’s beautiful and life-giving Word together?
Join The Living Church and All Souls’ Episcopal Church, Oklahoma City, for “Radiant Pages: Rediscovering the Bible.” This three-day conference in Oklahoma City will empower lay people and clergy alike to read the Bible with greater skill, care, and confidence. It will also provide tools for priests and teachers to re-invigorate their teaching and preaching.
In keynotes, conversation, and practical workshops, we’ll delve into questions like:
- Is there an “Anglican way” to read Scripture?
- Do Christians still need the Old Testament?
- Did Paul preach the same gospel as Jesus?
- How do I reconcile John with the rest of the gospels?
- How can I encounter Christ in devotional reading?
- How can I deepen Bible reading for preaching?
Speakers include:
- Dr. Ellen Davis, Amos Ragan Kearns Distinguished Professor of Bible and Practical Theology, Duke Divinity School
- The Rev. Dr. Wesley Hill, Associate Professor of New Testament, Wycliffe College, Toronto
- Dr. Lynn Cohick, Distinguished Professor of New Testament, Houston Christian University
- Dr. Garwood Anderson, Donald J. Parsons Distinguished Professor of Biblical Interpretation, Nashotah House Theological Seminary
- The Rev. Dr. Paul Wheatley, Assistant Professor of New Testament, Nashotah House Theological Seminary
The conference is a great opportunity for laity, clergy, and leaders in formation to deepen their engagement with the Bible, and to answer common question Episcopalians have about the relevance, coherence, and authority of difficult texts and authors, all in a warm, hospitable, and retreat-like atmosphere.
Tickets are affordable and student discounts are available. Prices include all meals.
Come rediscover the Bible for you, for today, in the communion of the Church across time.
