Bishop Amy was born and raised across the south, spending much of her childhood in the Carolinas and Louisiana. She became an Episcopalian at St. David’s in Laurinburg, North Carolina, and was later confirmed by Bishop James Brown at Christ Church, Covington, Louisiana. After graduating from Louisiana Scholars’ College, she returned to her home church in Covington to pursue ordination to the priesthood. During this time, she met her husband, Jared.

On July 10, 2002, Amy was ordained to the priesthood by Bishop Charles Jenkins at Trinity Episcopal Church in New Orleans.

Bishop Amy spent two years at Trinity before accepting the call as Associate for Children, Youth, and Families at Saint Michael and All Angels in Dallas, Texas. During her seven-year tenure in Dallas, she served the families of the parish and as deputy for the Provincial Synod for the Diocese of Dallas. In 2011, she was called to be the 27th rector of Trinity Episcopal Church, Danville, Kentucky. Over her nine years there, she partnered with parishioners to strengthen intergenerational worship, expand outreach ministries, and launch an ecumenical youth group.

In the summer of 2020, Amy became the 21st Dean—and the first woman to serve as Dean—of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her ministry there included building a community garden and establishing a mid-week intergenerational worship service. In total, she served 23 years as a priest before being elected the ninth bishop of The Diocese of West Missouri on November 9, 2024. She was consecrated on May 3, 2025, by The Most Rev. Sean Rowe, Presiding Bishop of The Episcopal Church.

Bishop Amy and Jared have been married for more than 25 years. They are the proud parents of three children, two dogs, and one grand-puppy. Outside of ministry, Bishop Amy enjoys knitting, reading, hiking, and long walks.

Above all, Bishop Amy is energized by the ways the people of West Missouri serve Jesus in their communities. She is confident that the kingdom of God is close at hand and looks forward to discovering all the ways the Holy Spirit is moving in our midst.
