The Diocese of West Missouri is pleased to announce that Christ Church of Springfield has appointed the Rev. Katherine Mansfield as Curate of Christ Church!
The Rev. Katherine is a native of Carthage, Missouri, and was active there at Grace Episcopal Church as a youth. She is very passionate about extending the Good News of Christ to young people. She began her work as a Curate and Associate Priest on July 1st.
A curacy is a two-year period in which a priest, in their first post-seminary position, works closely with another priest who acts in both an advisory and supervisory role.
“Our hope is that through Rev. Katherine’s ministry, Christ Church can minister to and with groups of people that, without her, we are hard-pressed to be able to do consistently,” writes the Rev. Joe Behen.
God willing, Deacon Katherine will be ordained presbyter at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral on July 20th.
