As the Human Resource Administrator and Finance Assistant for The Diocese of West Missouri, Elaine Gilligan assists our organizations in all aspects of Human Resources (employee changes, enrollment in insurance benefits including medical, dental, life, disability, pension and 403B, background checks, compensation requirements, payroll). Elaine leads the Safe Church Safe Communities program enrolling volunteers and employees in the online coursework.
As Finance Assistant, Elaine works closely with Church Insurance Agency in overseeing the property and casualty and workers compensation insurance for our churches. She processes the accounts payable and receivables and other duties as needed. Elaine also serves on the Finance Committee and Property Committee.
Elaine began as a finance volunteer at the diocese in 2011 after retiring from a 35-year insurance career of commercial underwriting and sales leadership. She and her husband, Jim, are active members at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection-Blue Springs. They have 2 children and 2 grandchildren. Their daughter, Kati, is Associate Director of Tax Resources at KPMG and son, John, is an ICU registered nurse. Elaine and Jim love their family time!
