2025 Impact Report
Recently, Episcopal Relief & Development released its 2025 Impact Report detailing their work in a year of unprecedented challenges for the international relief and development sector. Funding for life-saving, transformational work was drastically cut by governments worldwide. But the needs remained and grew as global challenges like poverty, disasters, war, and the effects of a changing climate only became more severe. Episcopal Relief & Development—whose work does not rely on government funding—was able to continue being present in local communities when that government funding evaporated.
During a year marked by uncertainty, individual supporters made gifts totaling $19 million towards Episcopal Relief & Development’s global programs that center asset-based community development.
Together with faith and community partners around the world, Episcopal Relief & Development promoted equality by equipping faith leaders to accompany communities as they shift norms and end learned behaviors that harm women and girls; expanded access to safe, clean water in rural villages, preventing the spread of disease and helping drought-prone communities transform sun-scorched fields into verdant vegetable gardens; offered safe learning spaces for parents and caregivers across Africa to cultivate nurturing mindsets, creating more healthy homes and communities where children thrive.
In 2025, Episcopal Relief & Development reached 3.8 million people in 49 countries and worked with 80 local partners. While the statistics might be impressive, there are individual stories and lives behind the numbers that are even more compelling.
Awiti: Through Moments That Matter® and the loving support of her parents and community in Kopanga, Kenya, Awiti has grown into a healthy, thriving 5-year-old child.
Anastasiia: Together with the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe, Episcopal Relief & Development helped Anastasiia integrate into a new city after she fled Ukraine in 2022. Now, she supports other refugees.
Doña Carmen: In one of the Honduran villages served by Episcopal Relief & Development and the Anglican Association for the Development of Honduras (AANGLIDESH) led by the Rev. Connie Sanchez, Doña Carmen was encouraged to play an active role in leading a community savings group allowing her to invest in purchasing fertilizers for her corn and coffee crops.
