Embark on the Camino de Santiago with St. James

St. James Episcopal Church in Springfield is participating in a pilgrimage from September 27 – October 7, 2026. The pilgrimage begins in Madrid and finishes in Santiago de Compostela with six walking days covering 73 miles of the French Way. The dedicated bus and guides provide the opportunity to walk as much or as little of the Way each day as you would like.

This spiritual journey provides everyone an opportunity to walk the pilgrim’s way traversed by countless Christians over the centuries. Led by local experts, this pilgrimage will be a time of spiritual growth and renewal all along the way. Some tour highlights include:

  • Welcome dinner hosted by Bishop Lopez Lozano, Bishop of the Spanish Episcopal Church.
  • Guided tour with an art historian to see collection highlights of Madrid’s Prado Museum.
  • Visit to the Catedral del Redentor, where guests receive the Pilgrim’s blessing, their Compostela Passport, & the Concha Shell blessed by Bishop Carlos López Lozano.
  • Pilgrim’s mass in a small chapel followed by an aperitivo style dinner & music with an opera singer singing the Pilgrim’s hymn & music related to the Galician culture.
  • and more!
All are invited to participate! More information and registration can be found on St. Jame’s website. Click to learn more: www.sj.church/camino. If you have any questions, contact St. James’ office at office@sj.church.
