Clergy Stewardship Workshop
The economic landscape for congregations in the United States is changing dramatically, and congregations are having to be more creative when it comes to making ends meet. Yet, in this season, clergy and congregational leaders have incredible opportunities to cultivate generosity within their communities and to advance the practice of stewardship.
That’s why on May 5, the Stewardship Commission of The Diocese of West Missouri will be hosting a one-day workshop, “Building Community, Cultivating Generosity, and Practicing Stewardship.”
This workshop, led by Nathan Kirkpatrick from Saison Consulting, is designed specifically for clergy in The Diocese of West Missouri, we will spend time both exploring the wider landscape and the practical dimensions of religious fundraising today. Whether you are concerned about trends in planned giving or capital campaigns or just wondering how to execute an annual appeal, there will be something in this day for you! Our schedule will include:
- 9 a.m. | Gathering and opening prayer
- 9:30 a.m. | Introduction to our work together, a way of working, and each other
- 10 a.m. | The landscape of religious fundraising
- 11 a.m. | Understanding your donors
- 12:30 p.m. | Lunch
- 1:15 p.m. | Practical tools: the 4-legged stool of fundraising
- 2:30 p.m. | Practical tools: The year-round cycle of giving
- 3:30 p.m. | Closing thoughts and departures
Register by May 1 to attend the workshop. If you are interested in staying the night on May 4, please register by April 15 for room at the Hampton Inn. Room cost and lunch is covered by the Stewardship Commission.
