Disability and the Gospels

The Access for All God’s Children Committee is inviting everyone to an upcoming hybrid event, “Disability and the Gospels”.

This interactive discussion focuses on the Gospels and faith, and how that shapes our ministry to people with disabilities, seen and unseen. The discussion will be lead by the Rev. Stephanie Shockley and the Rev. Robyn King, co-producers of the Accessible Altar podcast series.

Robyn is from the Anglican Diocese of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and Stephanie is from the Episcopal Diocese of New Jersey. They are advocates for being proactive in including people of all levels of ability in the church and society as a whole. The Accessible Altar podcasts, “at the intersection of faith and disability,” are available for streaming and are nationally recognized as addressing the needs of a myriad of persons with disabilities and their participation in the church.

In-person sites for this event will be held at:

Christ Episcopal Church
601 E. Walnut St., Springfield, MO 65806

St. Anne’s Episcopal Church
1815 NE Independence Ave., Lee’s Summit, MO 64806

Anyone interested in this discussion is urged to attend either by Zoom or in person to draw from the vast knowledge of these presenters. To RSVP for participation in Springfield, email the Very Rev. Peter DeVeau . To RSVP for participation in Lee’s Summit, email Ginny Miller.

Closed captioning will be offered. Zoom link will be provided near the event.
