Refuse To Be A Victim®
On February 28, St. Anne’s Episcopal Church will be hosting the Refuse To Be A Victim® event.
Refuse To Be A Victim® is a personal safety, crime prevention, and community well-being training designed to help participants increase awareness, build confidence, and make informed decisions to reduce their risk of becoming a victim of crime. This engaging and practical program focuses on realistic, everyday strategies that empower individuals to take an active role in their personal safety without relying on physical strength or weapons.
Lunch will be provided during the training. The cost for the training is $5 per person to cover the cost of learning materials. Please register using the short registration form linked below.
During this training, participants will learn how to recognize potentially dangerous situations, develop situational awareness, and practice effective decision-making skills. Topics include home and personal safety, travel awareness, digital safety, and strategies for setting boundaries and responding assertively. The emphasis is on prevention, preparation, and mindset—helping participants think through options before a crisis occurs.
Refuse To Be A Victim® is appropriate for adults of all ages and backgrounds. The training is discussion-based and interactive, encouraging questions and conversation in a supportive environment. No prior experience or physical ability is required, and the material is presented in a way that is accessible, practical, and respectful of individual comfort levels. This is not a self-defense or martial arts course; rather, it is a comprehensive approach to personal safety education.
