St. Mary’s and St. Andrew’s of Kansas City are partnering for an outreach event on March 14th called Pods for Pies.
Pods for Pies (P4P) is an event to help supply Cherith Brook Catholic Worker House with much needed laundry supplies for their laundry ministry for houseless individuals in the historic Northeast neighborhood of Kansas City.
As Christians, we must care for the poor and vulnerable in our midst. This provides an opportunity to participate in this work. P4P also provides an opportunity for people to fellowship and break bread together across several different parishes. This fellowship can help create friendship and cooperation among neighboring parishes.
Individuals are asked to donate detergent pods and other laundry supplies to participate in a Pi Day (March 14th) pizza dinner and pie social. A volunteer and worker from Cherith Brook will be on hand to answer questions about their different ministries and the Catholic Worker movement.
Kristi Seaton, Vestry member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Kansas City, will be coordinating and executing the event. Contact her for more details.
