Last April, the National AANHPI Episcopal Clergy and Lay Leadership Retreat was hosted by The Diocese of West Missouri at Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral. Philip Lofflin, Senior Warden at St. Mary’s of Kansas City and Diocesan Council member, was co-chair and invites others to join him in Seattle.
“I want to thank Bishop Amy Dafler Meaux, Canon Shirley Bolden, and the vital, ongoing work of the Diversity & Reconciliation Commission for supporting AANHPI. Their united call for justice for all who have suffered injustice and oppression because of their race is more important than ever,” said Philip Lofflin.
Join Episcopalians of Asian, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) heritage this April 15-17 (travel days April 14 & 18) for a pilgrimage of memory and solidarity. Based in the Diocese of Olympia (Seattle and Tacoma) in cooperation with Asiamerica Ministries, this retreat invites clergy and lay leaders to explore AANHPI history, engage in worship, and translate our collective stories into advocacy for migrant communities. This is a special and powerful opportunity to gather as a diverse, intergenerational community to transform our shared history into a movement for liberation for our community and the greater Episcopal Church. Please contact Philip Lofflin (flylip@yahoo.com) if you are interested in attending or if you have any questions about AANHPI. There are scholarships available to help cover some of the travel costs.
