This June, The Diocese of West Missouri participated in the Kansas City PrideFest on June 6 and Ozarks PrideFest in Springfield on June 13. These gatherings offered our diocesan community the opportunity to stand in solidarity with our LGBTQIA+ siblings, celebrate diversity, and share Christ’s message of unconditional love.
At both events, the Diocese hosted a Pride Eucharist before the start of each parade to share our faith and commitment to God and his ever-loving care.
Following the services, everyone from across the diocese joined the Pride parades, walking together in support of inclusion, belonging, and equality. We are grateful to the Pridefest organizations for the opportunity to walk alongside our LGBTQIA+ community and proclaim the Good News that all people are beloved children of God.
Thank you to the Pride Committee and the many volunteers who planned, prepared, and participated in this year’s events. Your dedication helped make these gatherings meaningful. And we’re not done yet! We are excited to continue celebrating and showing our support at St. Joseph PrideFest from June 26-27. We hope you’ll join us as we continue sharing Christ’s love and building a more inclusive community throughout West Missouri.
