Kintsugi Workshop

Ready to make art? Join the Access for All God’s Children Committee for a sponsored workshop that is open to anyone on May 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne’s Episcopal Church!

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold. This spiritual practice rooted in 15th century Japan is brought to life today to honor our cracks and healing together as the Body of Christ. It is a spirit-filled metaphor using visible gold seams to celebrate the repair, resilience and beauty of our brokenness rather than hiding our imperfections. Beth Cory, a member of St. Anne’s, Lee’s Summit, will lead this workshop at the church. Come break and remake objects as we reflect on creating a more accessible, welcoming church for all.

Fellowship and snacks will be provided. There is no charge for this workshop; it should be a fun and enlightening day. If you’re interested, please register or email Margie Gray at margiegray24@gmail.com.

  • Time : 11:00 am - 2:30 pm (America/Chicago)
